There are many reasons why we make you dance over the summer. It’s fun and its great exercise, but there are true benefits as a dancer to continuing your dance education over the summer. An advanced dancer relies on muscle memory to execute more difficult steps. It takes thousands of repetitions to create muscle memory and so much can be lost in a few short weeks. The Continuing Dance Program is a fantastic opportunity for the regular dancer, to sharpen their skills and performance ability and is mandatory for our competitive team dancers. No matter what you do over summer break – be sure to squeeze in your dance education! You have worked too hard and long to let it all go.
Our summer classes this season are in two parts. Dancers must participate in at least 2 classes of dance per week for 6 weeks as well as a Competitive Team Choreography Week.
Each week dancers will have a PBT/Ballet class as well as Stretch/Jazz Tech or Tap tech class.
Our 6-week program is Monday July 6 to August 17 (no class Aug. 3) and Wednesday July 8 to August 19, 2020
Choreography Camp is August 11 to 14, 2020, so the August 12 weekly class will run on August 19 instead)
Guest instructors combined with the Dancesations Staff will teach the classes over the summer.
Dancers may add on a 3rd class during the weekly session to help strengthen and improve technique.
